What We Accept: Content
Content needs to be your own and on a natural parenting topic. We encourage you to share your thoughts and emotions, but reserve the right to approve of controversial content before it will be posted. Content needs to be respectful and should not attack anyone or any parenting topic.
While you would maintain the copyright to your own work. Omaha Area Natural Parents asks that you not post your submission anywhere else (including your own blog) for 90 days after publication on Omaha Area Natural Parents. This exclusivity adds value for our readers without us having to ask for copyright on your work.
If you have a product that is relevant to natural parenting families, and you would like to submit a product for a review / giveaway, please read our Advertising FAQ. We will not accept articles trying to sell something.
Formatting & Editing Requirements
Generally, posts are typically in the 400-600 word range. If your post is longer, consider making it into a series of posts (part 1, part 2, etc).
Use shorter paragraphs (3-6 sentences each); your post will be easier to read.
Organize your thoughts; use headings or lists when possible; be clear, concise, and straightforward.
All posts must be accompanied by a mini-bio (about 2 sentences, you can link to your personal site) and a 50px x 50px picture. You also need to include a main article picture that is 835 x 621 px. You must either own or have permission to use the picture. If it is a stock/free image, please provide a name/link to the owner. Feel free to write anonymously, but we still require something for a bio and picture.
We reserve the right to edit (and veto) all submissions (but we will never make a substantial change without discussing it with you first).
Contributors are expected to visit to their post to review any comments and respond to any questions. If there are any questions or problems with a comment, please let us know as soon as possible. All comments (including the writers) should adhere to the comment policy.
